Morning Work Freebie

I have been thinking a bunch about my morning work lately...

Last year I had the kids work in partners with their HFW's and that worked ok, but it wasn't great. Then I switched to journal writing, but I really like that as a workshop must do... so a change is in order.

Have you seen those number of that day pins? I really like that idea! So I have been thinking of a way to make that work for firsties.

I want to do number of the day and word of the day. I need it to be "paper and copy saving" (we have a limit to work within) and easy to handle- passing out, collecting, etc...

These are all concept versions and I would LOVE your input on them! Click to download and comment to let me know what you think, which one is your fave, what do you like,  what you would change etc...

This one is to be printed front to back and used all week... hint hint paper/copy saving :) but it might be too small?

Another paper/copy saving choice... The kiddos would get one 1/2 sheet per day

This one is a one page per day deal, but it leaves more writing room...

Ok... there you have them...as you can see, your input is much needed :)

ok so here is my opinion. :) If you use the 3rd option, but run the math on the second side so you would have 2 word of the day on one side and then 2 number of the day on the back. This way you can cut it in half so they are only using 1/2 sheet a day. If you want, then you can make a little book out of it. Besides that suggestion, I think it looks great! Thanks. :)

A lot of times, I save paper by putting the sheets in a page protector and letting the kids use (skinny) dry-erase markers! If it were me, I would do this most weeks- and only copy it to assess once or twice a grading period.

Denise from Sunny Days in Second Grade has some great Math Magic and Word Wizard pages, too- LOVE them for morning work!

WONDERFUL JOB!!! These are perfect for Morning Work; they are both purposeful and educational! I like the third option but printed back to back to save paper! (on a side note, if you have not checked out my Blog yet, please do). SMILES!

I love the idea of using these in an erasable sheet and just making paper copies several times throughout the grading period.

Thanks!

I love the bigger spacing pages for the beginning of the year and the smaller ones to use toward the end of the year.
I would probably give paper copies for the first couple of weeks to get them used to the idea and be able to write on them to give them individual feedback, but then I would probably put into page protectors and let kids use the skinny dry erase markers.
You've done a fabulous job on the concept of them!

I love this freebie, thanks! I downloaded the half sheet version and then laminated them to save paper. It works really well with skinny dry erase markers. I was wondering if it would be possible to get an electronic version? I would love to be able to put it on my bright link so we can work through them together until we get the hang of it.

Thanks,
Susan
